On a Windows PC:

1. Click Start > Run
2. Type CMD. Press Enter.
3. Type "ping www.mydomain.com" without the quotes and with your web site's domain name.
4. Press Enter.

On an OS X-based Mac:

1. Open your Applications folder.
2. Open the Utilities folder.
3. Open the Network Utility program.
4. Go to the Ping tab.
5. Enter your web site (www.mydomain.com) and press enter.
